Who am I?

A seasoned transformation and programme leader with extensive experience delivering strategic, operational, and digital change across aviation, technology, and telecommunications. Developing a deep knowledge in AI-enabled, next-generation MRO design and continuous improvement, blending deep technical expertise with a strong focus on people, culture, and innovation.

As Director of MRO Transformation at Atlantic Aviation Group, Gerry leads a comprehensive modernisation of operational structures and systems. The MRO Transformation Office Team have implemented ERP governance, redefined core operational verticals, and introduced major safety, process, and productivity enhancements. Their initiatives have strengthened planning, engineering, production and materials effectiveness while improving customer experience, operational intelligence, training pathways, and cost efficiency across the organisation.

Previously, as Senior Programme Manager at VMware, Gerry delivered global programmes in support operations, AI-driven self-service, knowledge management, offshore expansion, workforce development, and business continuity. His team consistently improved service quality, operational performance, and partner capability while leading award-winning employment and graduate initiatives,

Earlier roles at Eircom spanned programme management, IT operations, project delivery, process automation, broadband deployment, and corporate account management, where he earned national sales recognition.

A PMP®, Master Black Belt, MSP-certified leader with dual Master’s degrees, and a Bachelors degree, Gerry is known for enabling organisations and teams to thrive through complexity while delivering measurable, sustainable transformation.

The experience of my years in work has clearly shown me that there are three very important factors in bringing success to your organisation.

  1. Passion - This is the fuel that will drive your teams and your people above and beyond in delivering your projects and programs. .

  2. Planning - Stops us from “wandering around in the dark”. When your North Star is truly understood, and your people understand this, great planning leads to great projects, on the singular journey to Polaris..

  3. People - by far the most important. Quite cliched, but when companies truly get this right, anything can happen. .

Innovation - A playground:

Many of the tasks undertaken in the workplace are done reactively and so only “certain cogs are spinning in our brains'“ Work should be fun and should offer space and time for the “proactive cogs to spin” When this proactive cog spinning is done as a collective it is immensely powerful.

    Open your browser and go to www.miro.com. On the login screen, click on a button “Sign up free ->“. Despite the fact the login box is suggesting you use your work email, you can use your personal email, or sign in with Google or Facebook if you wish.

  • Step 2:

    After you enter your email, you will be prompted to fill in a few personal details. Once you have set-up your password & verified your email, you can then set up your team - if you already have a name for your app, that would be a great team name to use.

  • Step 3:

    If you are working as a part of the team, in the next step you can invite your teammates to collaborate. Otherwise, skip for now. On the next screen select “I want to start from scratch“. This will open a board for you and you can search for the App Wireframe template shown below:

The Concept of the Hybrid Project Toolbox

Many years of experience have convinced me that each project requires a set of tools. Not always the same, and are project dependent.

As a Master Black Belt in Lean Sigma Systems I have found that most benefit has been gained by combining Lean and Project Management Tools and Techniques when Initiating, planning, executing, monitoring/contrilling, and closing projects.

Not one set of tools will do all.

Significant benefits are to be derived through all stages of the Project/Program Lifecycle by taking a Lean approach to all project phases.
